Tok's Birthday @ One Step Western

Tok turned 67 on 1 June 2010 but we celebrated her birthday the next day, 2 June 2010 so that Pak Long and Mak Long who came from Pekan could join us. This time we decided to hold the party at One Step Western @ Pak Ngah Restaurant.

We invited Aunty Noyah, Uncle Kassim, Kak Nor and Abang Yan to join us not just celebrating Tok’s 67th birthday but to try the food at One Step. It was quite a challenge for Uncle to prepare 12 dishes of orders at one go couple with some other orders from his customers. But with his experience and skill, he managed it quite well. Food was great and everyone enjoyed themselves. After the dinner, we surprised Tok with a birthday cake and birthday gifts from Tok Wan and Ibu.

To our dearest Tok @ Mummy, Happy 67th Birthday from all of us. May Allah swt continue to grant you good health, clear wisdom and happiness. We love you.

For Uncle AP always persevere despite challenges and above all, don't quit....

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow,
Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Dada...i'm happy we share the same quote. i have it pasted on the wall across my workstation @ home. it gave me hope and motivation to go through the challenges of being self-employed especially during the early years. the words.."when the funds are low, and the debts are high; you want to smile but you have to sigh"...those were the exact things/feelings that i faced in the first 2 years. alhamdulillah, it's my 6th year this year and things are really good.
anyhow, you mom and mine share the same age...only that mine will celebrate her b'day in Aug.
the restaurant is owned by your brother..? good, la. Insya Allah, my family will visit. my boys suka western.
take care, dear and salam.. WAN

Hi Wan
You are right, especially on that particular line. He is just starting and I hope he will be able to come all the challenges and remain persevere. Bukan senang nak meniaga especially if you are not serving Siam Food or Mamak Food.It will take time. My brother pun menumpang at Pak Ngah restaurant. Do drop by OK.
